Find refunds you're owed

Delegation guide · 💰 Money · all tasks

Can Muse do it? Yes. Point it at your purchase receipts and it hunts for money left on the table — price drops after you bought, credits you forgot, balances on closed accounts — then files the claims.

The prompt

Review my purchase receipts from the last 90 days. For each purchase over $50, check whether the price has dropped since I bought it and whether the retailer offers price adjustments. Also flag unused gift cards, store credits, and any double charges. Build me a refund claim list with amounts and the retailer's claim process for each. Draft the claims but don't submit without my approval.

Steps

  1. Connect receipts. Email receipts work best — Muse reads order confirmations and matches them against current prices.
  2. Run the monthly scan. The prompt above covers price drops, credits, and double charges in one pass.
  3. Check the claim windows. Price-adjustment policies are typically 14–30 days — Muse notes the deadline per retailer so you don't miss it.
  4. Approve and file. Muse drafts each claim; you review and submit. Most are a form or a chat message.

Caveats

  • Windows are short. A price drop found on day 35 of a 30-day policy is just trivia. Run the scan monthly.
  • Marketplace sellers differ. Third-party sellers on big platforms often have no adjustment policy — Muse will note which purchases are eligible.
  • Small amounts add up, but batch them. Five $8 claims aren't worth five separate filings; ask Muse to batch by retailer.
