Book hotels by talking to your agent.
On October 28, 2026, Agoda announced it had connected its AI travel assistant to Meta's Muse. For Muse users in Singapore and Japan, the agent can now discover destinations, book hotels and manage itineraries in conversation — Agoda calls it the first travel platform in the region with a live Muse connector.
The announcement, in five facts
✈️ First travel connector
Agoda says it is the first travel platform regionally with an active Muse connector — a named, live connector rather than a promise. Travel is the first vertical to get one; expect the pattern to repeat for other categories.
🇸🇬🇯🇵 Singapore + Japan only
Live for Muse users in Singapore (launched the same day) and Japan. Same doors everywhere: the Muse app on iOS and Android, and muse.ai on the web.
🤝 Assistant-to-assistant
The connector links Agoda's own AI travel assistant with Muse — two agents talking behind your chat. You describe the trip in words; the itinerary, hotel options and booking steps come back as a conversation.
What Muse can do with Agoda
- Destination discovery — start from intent ("somewhere beachy, four days, under budget") instead of a search form, per Agoda's announcement.
- Hotel booking — Agoda's travel offering comes into the Muse conversation, with the agent checking options against your dates and budget.
- Itinerary management — plan, adjust and keep the trip together without hopping between tabs.
- Approval step — Meta's managing director in Singapore, Nicole Tan, says you choose what Muse can access and approve actions before they happen; per Meta's design, the agent confirms before purchases.
- Progressive rollout — Meta says partner features roll out progressively, so not every feature may be live on day one.
What's not confirmed
- Catalog coverage — Agoda lists 6 million-plus holiday properties, 130,000-plus flight routes and 300,000-plus activities across its platform, but the announcement does not say all of them are reachable through Muse. Treat the connector as a subset, not the full Agoda.
- Booking terms — no detail on cancellation, loyalty points or payment handling inside the agent flow; confirm in the app before you book.
- Other markets — no word on when the connector reaches the US, Canada or any future market.
The bigger picture
- Agoda's angle: chief product officer Matteo Frigerio says the connection gives travelers "another convenient way to discover, plan and book their trips" and reflects a bet on meeting customers wherever they engage with Agoda.
- Meta's angle: Nicole Tan frames it as connecting Muse to a travel brand "people in Singapore already use and love" — the agent's value grows with the connectors it can reach.
- The regional map: per Skift, Expedia joined Muse at the US launch as the North America hotel partner (with Duffel for flights). Agoda is Booking Holdings' Asia-focused brand, so the same group now holds a Muse foothold in both Asian markets. Travel is the first vertical where the connector race is visible.
- Context: this landed with Muse's Singapore launch and five days after Japan — the two markets where the connector is live.
3 prompts to plan travel with the connector
For Muse users in Singapore or Japan — keep the approval step, show the comparison first.
Weekend getaway comparison
I'm planning a 3-day beach trip from Singapore next month with a budget of SGD 800 for flights and hotel. Using the Agoda connection, find 2 destination options with hotel prices and flight routes, compare total costs, and show me the comparison. Do NOT book anything — present the options first.
Business trip itinerary
I have a business trip to Tokyo from Dec 10 to Dec 14. Through the Agoda connection, check hotel options near central Tokyo with good reviews under JPY 25,000/night, plus activities I can fit around meetings. Build the itinerary and show me the full plan with costs before booking.
Trip re-plan on disruption
My current hotel booking through Agoda conflicts with a schedule change. Check alternative dates and hotels with similar pricing through the Agoda connection, and flag any cancellation or change fees before making changes. Show me the options first.
Good to know
- Shopping — not travel — is Muse's top use case: on the Q3 earnings call Meta said more than a quarter of active users shop through Muse, averaging above $200 per purchase. Travel is one of the other top use cases, which is exactly why a travel connector like Agoda fits.
